Limited Edition Tea Caddy Fantasy

In keeping with the early creative period of the manufactory, porcelain painter Katrin Getzlaff decorated the historic box with a colourful palette and sculptural details such as imaginative birds and delicate blossoms. The special feature of the decoration of Böttger stoneware is that the colours of the manufactory were developed for white porcelain and do not develop their actual luminosity on the dark stoneware. Katrin Getzlaff therefore first painted the decorated surfaces with an opaque white, onto which she then applied the various colours. In its formal language, modelled on the unadorned, simple utilitarian objects of the 18th century, this historic vessel shows once again that good design can survive the passage of time, even 300 years.
