DESCRIPTION & Details
description
Acquire a gem of Baroque tableware from MEISSEN, a piece from Count Sulkowski's service. According to his wishes, every bowl and every tureen was to be an unprecedented showpiece. The ingenious designer Kaendler therefore created true sculptures with a functional purpose. This is also the case with this sauce boat. The feet and handles echo the volutes of Dresden's Baroque buildings. Indeed, the female head masks with their characteristic leaf crowns are direct references to Permoser's sculptures at the Dresden Zwinger. A decoration featuring flowers, fruits, and insects based on old woodcuts completes this beautiful piece.
