The Gloriosa, also known as the flame or climbing lily, bears its proud name for good reason. Derived from the Latin gloriosus - "glorious" - its gracefully curved, fiery-red petals unfold in a play of color and form that only nature itself can create.

On this refined wall plate, porcelain painter Katrin Getzlaff created a fleeting moment from the natural world: a brilliantly colored hummingbird hovers toward a branch of Gloriosa blossoms, its tiny body appearing almost weightless before the fragrant flowers. Painted in a classically traditional style, the blossoms cascading over the rim of the plate lend the scene both lightness and modern elegance. A delicate gold rim and subtle gilded accents complete the composition without diminishing its harmony.
