DESCRIPTION & Details
description
The "Kettledrummer" is a figure from the celebrated "Monkey Band" created by Johann Joachim Kaendler, the first master modeler of the MEISSEN manufactory, and stands as a testament to the exceptional porcelain artistry that earned him international renown. When the ensemble was introduced in 1753, the monkey was a highly fashionable motif-perfectly suited to this whimsical and imaginative orchestra.

All 21 figures in the series are crafted from the finest Meissen porcelain and meticulously hand-painted with remarkable attention to detail. As a result, each monkey possesses its own distinct expression and personality-an enduring quality especially appreciated by collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Reinterpreted by modeler Silke Ebermann, the "Monkey Band" pays tribute to centuries of Meissen craftsmanship while honoring the extraordinary artistic legacy of Johann Joachim Kaendler.
