Limited Masterworks Dancing Couple from the Russian Ballet

In 1912, the guest performance of "Le Carnaval" at the Theater des Westens in Berlin inspired Paul Scheurich to create the figurine group "Russian Ballet". The figures of five Russian dancers were his first and at the same time most successful works of art for MEISSEN. The sculpture of the dancing couple "Russian Ballet", limited edition and hand-painted, shows a young woman in love in a deeply décolleté dress and swaying crinoline skirt, caressed by the harlequin with a black mask. The inspiration for this sculpture was probably the most famous lovers of the Commedia dell'Arte, Harlequin and Columbine, who were also characters in the Russian ballet performance "Le Carnaval" by Robert Schumann in 1912. The hand-painted work of art is limited to 25 pieces.
