The figure "Cat" by the sculptor Otto Jarl from 1904 testifies to an excellent power of observation and a deep understanding of typical animal behavior. At the beginning of the 20th century, animal sculpture experienced a renaissance in MEISSEN® porcelain. Renowned sculptors of the Art Nouveau period were honored and inspired to create exclusive animal figures, both colorfully hand-painted and natural, for Europe's oldest porcelain manufactory and to engage with the great tradition. One of the resulting masterpieces is the figure of a gray tabby cat. Lovely hand-painted, she enchants with dynamism and liveliness.
